Shouldn't Franck Béria be considered fort this team?

Amazing achievement from Lille IMO Maignan could go straight to the first team over Lama, maybe Fonte can replace Adamczyk too. Players that can be in reserves: Yilmaz, Yazici and André.

With all respect to Fonte but I don't see a single reason why he should enter first team here. He won a championship, so what? Other defenders did the same thing and it's certainly not the case that he carried the team like Hazard did in 2011 for example. I'd rather replace Adamczyk with Vandooren who won the championship as well and beats Fonte in every other aspect. With Debuchy, Jadrejak, Bieganski, Vandooren and even Béria there would be five players who can cover RB position so Adamczyk isn't needed here IMO.

Well, Fonte was captain and a fantastic leader of the team, especially the defence, which was the main reason Lille won the title. They conceded the least goals in the entire top 5 leagues and that was mainly down to his organisation and leadership. Plus I don’t see why carrying the team to a title should be the requirement to enter the first team. None of the other defenders in the first team did that. It’s not like Lille have 40 league titles, they have 4.

So what? Vandooren also played a big role in winning the championship in 1933 + he was better defender + played longer for the club.



I never wrote anywhere that this is a criteria. I just pointed out that his impact to that championship simply wasn't that extraordinary (at least not bigger than the one of Yilmaz and Maignan) as the one of Hazard in 2011.
Btw I know pretty well how many titles Lille has. I also know that their best and most succesful era was in the 40s and 50s, not today, and winning one championship doesn't make Fonte a bigger legend than any of those guys in first team.

Sure but Adamczyk didn’t win anything with the club apart from Ligue 2, that’s why I suggested him. If anything, you could take out Béria too and add both Fonte and Vandooren. Fonte is way better than Béria ever was. Sure Béria played much longer but Fonte is already a legend as captain and leader of a title winning team.

Also I think Hazard should really be in the first team anyway. Although I’m not familiar enough with most of the midfielders to know who to drop.
