I think that this team needs redoing. This is my suggestion for the first team, created from players who won the Ligue 1 title, Coupe de France and Coupe de la Ligue, but also with some players that are considered as legends and played mostly in Ligue 1 with few exceptions who played Ligue 2.

Can’t say I know too much about Montpellier’s history, but agreed that this team needs an overhaul. There are currently zero players that won the only title in their history in the team.

What I can’t agree with is putting Yanga Mbiwa in the first team. The guy is one of the stupidest defenders I’ve ever seen, I’m not even sure how he made it as a professional footballer to be honest...

You're right, he is bad, but he played for the club in more than 200 matches and was one of the influental players in the club's greatest success. And to be honest, there are small number of players that played in that amount of matches for Montpellier on the top level. My candidate for the first team place instead of him would be Serge Blanc.

By the way, didn't Blanc spend the vast majority of his time at Montpellier as a midfielder?

Yes he did, but also, he started playing there as sweeper as well, and already got recognition. Also, he scored regularly from defense. I think that last four seasons in Montpellier he played as sweeper.
