Hello, Here are some teams chosen by journalists or Internet users : ![]() Ouest-France in 2010 ![]() The Brest team of the twentieth century (elected by Telegram internet users) ![]() The 21st century Brest team (elected by Télégramme internet users) ![]() Top 10 legends of the Stade Brestois by the Téléfoot TV show ![]() Stade Brestois all-star by Football-the-Story.com https://www.football-the-story.com/stade-brestois ![]() Stade Brestois dream team by football yesterday and today https://footballyesterdayandtoday.blogs ... s-des.html A few quick remarks: - Gilles Boulouard played for many years for Stade Brestois but never above the 3rd division. I think he should be placed in the reserve team. - David Ginola only played a year and a half in Brest but made a huge impression on the public. I think he should be placed in A-team. - The same can be said of Bernard Lama (only one season at the club) but who is undoubtedly the best goalkeeper to have played in Brest, so he also deserves to join A-team. - We can also add to the A-team the Brazilian Julio Cesar Da Silva and the Argentinian Jose-Luis Brown |

First of all thanks for the feedback! I hardly rely on AS teams made by users (did it in the past a few times and wasn't a good idea) and occasionally but not entirely on those made by journalists. In my opinion they often consider more guys who were great even though they didn't play much, in my opinion only for views and relevance of the articles. After all, how many would care about a bunch of 2nd and 3rd division players? Lama, Ginola and Ribéry for example would bring more interest from younger people. That said, I always use Football the Story for the lists but I never rely on their formation for the same already mentioned reason. Yes, Boulouard played mainly in 3rd division but he's a legend, who spent 14 seasons and he's probably one of the players with most appearances. I wouldn't replace him, surely not for Júlio Cesar or Brown, who spent only one season and had their peak somewhere else. I can add them in the reserves though. |

Thank you for your reply. I respect your point of view, as I respect Gilles Boulouard. He is one of those men who made it possible for the club not to sink during the long years of hardship which followed the liquidation of Brest Armorique. However, in my mind, choosing the All-Stars of a club is like selecting the players who have shown themselves to be the most brilliant at a high level (the 1st division for Brest). For example, Roberto Cabanas only played two seasons (and only one in D1) in Brest but who would dare to challenge his status as club legend? In this logic, I would place Lama, Ginola and Julio Cesar in A-team. If you ask Brest supporters over 50 which players have marked it, the answers will always be more or less identical with Vabec and Cabanas in head. It should also be remembered that at the time of Vabec, there were often more than 10,000 spectators in the stands. During the 90s, in D3, National and CFA, it was (on average) 10 times less ... |
