Watched the game and the formation isn't right indeed. In fact they played in a 4-3-3 like this:

MAIER

HÖTTGES - SCHWARZENBECK - BECKENBAUER © - BREITNER

WIMMER - NETZER - HOENESS

HEYNCKES - MÜLLER - KREMERS


Beckenbauer in the same line than Schwarzenbeck, at his left (in fact due to his tendency to join the attack frequently, he even played ahead of him most of the time lol).
Netzer operated deep in the middle with Wimmer at his right and Hoeness at his left, leaving his lazy ass free from any defensive task as Hacki and Uli defended on both sides.
Heynckes was in the right but he didn't stayed much on the wing as he played more like a second striker alongside Müller.
