If Kolo Touré is good enough to be in reserves, Mehdi Benatia surely can be here too. IMO he could be even a candidate for first team..

Btw, added Hassan and also Ahmed Oudjani, Ali Bencheikh, Salah Assad, Tarik El-Taib and Rachid Mekhloufi to the reserves. I also replaced Kundé with Zitouni in formation as Zitouni was probably the best defender Africa ever produced. Mekhloufi should be in first team btw, it's a shame Charruan didn't even include him in the reserves here..

At this level, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Riyad Mahrez could be considered in the near future.

Yes this team needs a big update, seems like a fun project to work on. I simply don’t understand some of the choices here, nobody could genuinely think that Uche was better than Naybet for example. It seems to have a big bias towards players that played 1 or 2 good games in the World Cup rather than actually representing the best players from Africa. Someone like Yekini was just a good player in a weak team in Portugal (he even spent half his time in the second division), no better than someone like Aboubakar or Marega today, while you have guys like Mekhloufi, Oudjani, Yeboah, Pokou etc. in reserves despite the fact they were some of the best players in some of the strongest leagues in the world. But then you have even some more “local legend” players omitted such as Chitalu and Sono in favour of joke players like Amunike and Babayaro. If they’re here, then you might as well add Alex Song and Baba Rahman, pretty much the same thing. And that’s not even starting to factor in the current guys that need to be here (I believe this team was made about 10 years ago, so it’s at least understandable why they are not included). So yeah, a lot of work needed.

Since I created many African national teams, it should be easier to consider who should be here by checking the players from those teams. To add some more names to those Stuart mentioned, I'd say Biri Biri, Fernando Lage, M'Pelé, Ethiopian Mengistu Worku and Luciano Vassallo among others who probably deserve to stay here.

As well as the obvious current attacking players, I think Koulibaly deserves an inclusion too. There haven't been many African centre-backs who could get into any team in the world during his prime

Same for Joseph Yobo.

I forgot about Mahrez, he should be here too.

Is there any plan to update this team? I might work on it. If you're okay with it, I'd just need to know if we want to keep the same number of players or shorten it and make it like my Asian All Stars team.
