I will try to do it, but it will not be an easy task.
Before that, let's talk a little about this current team.
It's not a bad choice at all, maybe just small changes, and that could be it:

- Vladimir Jugović, instead of Vladimir Petrović, Jugo is considered the best DMF and in general one of the best midfielders that Serbia has had, Petrović is the weakest link in this lineup, so he should be dropped

- Now, it might be controversial, but for me it is not, for me it is very clear, Aleksandar Mitrović must be 23, whether he was loved or hated is irrelevant, the numbers speak for themselves, and they say: 28 years old, 52 goals for the national team in at this moment, it is an absolutely incredible achievement for someone from this part of Europe, Džeko for Bosnia is at 65, I think, but at 36 years old, so the record will surely fall.So Mitrović must be among the 23, but I have no idea who to throw out, believe it or not in my version, that is Šekularac, because he played 40 games in ten years and scored six goals, you will admit too little for such a caliber, of course I am aware that he then the number of games is much smaller, but for ten years six goals is too few, of course that's just my opinion, I'm open to discussion, who to throw out

I can agree with you about Jugović and Mitrović, but no way Šekularac can be left out. Appearances aren't the only factor to take into consideration. Someone like him is a too legendary name to be replaced. It'd be like taking Falcão out of Brazil All Stars for the same reason.

Šeki is a legend, no doubt, then maybe Veselinović, I don't see anyone else, these others are, so to speak, untouchable"

* Okay, here's a clarification to make it a little clearer for people who aren't from this part of the world. Greater Yugoslavia or SFRJ consisted of all six republics, after the breakup in 1991, what remained was the "smaller" Yugoslavia, which consisted of Serbia and Montenegro. That Yugoslavia lasted until 2003, and then a state called "Serbia and Montenegro", it lasts until 2006, when these two republics finally become independent. According to the official position of the International Olympic Committee, all sports results achieved by both Yugoslavia and the "zombie state" of Serbia and Montenegro are attributed to Serbia, which I believe is okay, considering that after the breakup of the great Yugoslavia, we attributed all the debts to us, so I guess if we can take the debts, we can also take the sports results. Why am I telling you all this, I counted the second,,younger" national team since 1992, when it was created smaller Yugoslavia, so until today, I did not include players who played for the greater Yugoslavia, and in this case it is only Dragan Pixi Stojković.

By the way, according to these "before and after" squads, we can see how much football in Serbia has stagnated in the last 30 years, in the "before" selection, I actually only added two footballers, Nenad Stojković and Blagoje Paunović. Talent yes, team play nothing.

Agree with the temporal turning point and the process. It's clear enough. Basically the same can be applied for the Montenegro NT. I mean the contribution of the Montenegrin players during this period (92-06) should be kept in mind when building the Montenegro team. Eventually I believe you agree it's better to split the topic as you did. The misfortune of the Serbian football after the Yugoslavia dissolution is itself a strong proof to do so. Considering the selections it stands the same as I responded to your Croatia work.

May I ask why Djukic starts in front of Sinisa?
