Some crucial players of the 2008/2010/2012 teams like Casillas, Xavi and Iniesta should be added to at least the best 23

There was already a discussion about this in the old forum, I agree with you but since Charrùan is the creator of this thread he has the last word and as he said he doesn't agree with our suggestions.
We can change this team in our option file ;)

Yeah kinda weird to see a country that has won 4 major trophy's and no single player of the teams that won 3 of them is present. For instance Kubala and Di Stefano are superior players to Xavi and Iniesta but they didn't win anything special so they shouldn't be in it. Like in Italy were Del Piero and Totti are superior to Rossi as a football player but Rossi was crucial in winning a WC and therefor he is rightfully in it

I agree with you guys... But, I have to say something... If we add these three players in the team, who could go out?

I think thats why Charruan doesn't add them, because he have to quit another players and all of these players deserves be players of the first team... I'm from Spain, you know guys and I think only one player of the 23 in first team could be changed for one of these players suggested, is Míchel and in his place Xavi (or Iniesta if we take him from 2010 to 2013-14)

In my opinion, Xavi is the only one who deserves stay in first team... He is the team from last 8 years (not only Spain, Barcelona too, when he didn't play... the game of the teams were a shit). And, I like much more Iniesta (as we call him, The Spanish Zidane), but Xavi is the team, is like Pirlo with Italy since 2006 (for me, he should won the Ballon D'or in 2006 and not Cannavaro), Xavi is old right now, and Barcelona feel it, like the NT, right now it is difficult to win another major trophy because he is old, when he decide to retire himself we'll miss him...

About Casillas I have doubts, because he could go in instead of Arconada but about this Charruan has the last word, as Doni said. ;)

Perhaps you are right about which midfielders to replace but do you think that Kubala should be in the team? Isn't it more because if Kubala (same about di Stefano) should be in a team it should be Spain? In my opinion it should be the other way round: who should be in the team instead of in what team should a great player be.

Well, Kubala and Di Stéfano played too much time for Spain NT, and Di Stefano was the Top Scorer of Spain NT until Butragueño broke that record...

About Kubala I'm not sure, he was one of the best players in Spain NT... but Di Stéfano, for me deserves that place in first team

First: I apologize that I post something in this thread.
Second: Why Mata in reserves? His goal against Italy (when Spain was already leading 3:0) in the EC final of 2012 was the only "important" thing he ever did for Spain and he wasn't even a starter in this tournament..
I'd rather have kept Pereda in reserves as he was a key player of the 1964 EC winning squad and also a better player than Mata..

I agree with Gurkenjoe, I think Mata is useless also Caminero was far better and important than him.

I'm not sure Sergio Ramos deserves first team I'd keep Quincoces.

IMHO Iniesta should be in first team I think he has been the most important player among Xavi of the last years for Spain, I'd put him in first team and Villa in reserves.

Well, Villa is the top scorer of Spain NT... Although lot of players are and were better than him, I think he deserves stay in first team for that.

Agree with Iniesta, I can say, even more important than Xavi (in Euro 2012, Xavi didn't play good as 2010 and 2008), I suggest Iniesta instead of Michel, I don't think to another player who could be replaced by Iniesta...

About Sergio Ramos, I think he deserves stay in first team. (He is in the first XI always since 2006/07, being one of the best players in all titles of Spain in this "Golden years")

I don't know about Quincoces, he should be in the first team... Instead of Segarra (Segarra played 25 matches, playing well but no more... And Quincoces played 25 matches, and he was the best player of the FIFA WC 1934, playing for Spain... I should put Quincoces in first team again, and Segarra out)

The other changes are good for me ;)

I made a mistake on the David Silva link, it actually links to Esteban Granero. Here is the correct link: viewtopic.php?f=24&t=5887

Updated the formation, with now Di Stéfano acting like a CMF & Raúl like a SS.
