 Characteristics of the ATT rating

Most attributes seem fairly straightforward, but this one I could do with some expert insight please. I will try and explain, as best I can, what am I referring to. Sorry in advance if I appear to ramble on. If a CF is given a rating of 99 in ATT, how would he differ from, say an 85? (not including any special abilities or cards, just as a standalone rating). Does a higher rating mean a player will operate higher, staying centrally like a goal hanger-effectively being totally focused on scoring, OR will it improve their movement regardless of direction. Eg, they will look for GOOD space, even if it means dropping deep or running the channels. I ask because you have Puskas on 98, who was by no means just a box player, which would infer its about all round attacking intelligence, as opposed to a particular movement pattern. Yet Trezeguet has a 96 while Henry has 95, so that kind of implies that proximity to goal is also a consideration, unless its universally suggested on here that Trezeguet is a more complete CF than Henry, which I would find surprising

Also with Midfielders and defenders, is it purely a measure of how advanced a player will move(eg, a 90 is more likely to get in the box than an 80), or is it, again, about intelligence off the ball. In the case of someone like Xavi it would make a huge difference. Because while he rarely attacks the box, his movement and availability for the ball is amongst the very best. So if its about attacking the box, I would be giving him a moderate rating, but if its about finding space to support a teammate I would have him in the 90's for sure

I should point out I play PES2019. From what I have read it seems a lot of stats are for older versions, so I don't know if those are so relevant to later games. PES5 and PES6 will never be beaten. But I just don't have an older console anymore

Thanks in advance for any help

Graham

Mate, higher ATT, imo, is higher offensive capabilities such as positioning and tactical intelligence. The old sets, from PS2, have a stat called Aggresion, or AGG, and in the game itself is explained that the higher this stat is, more likely the player will be in supporting the team while they're attacking. It doesn't mean a player is aggressive to commit fouls, no. It measures how likely a player will support its team in attacking moments. Surely, most forward players have this attribute higher than center-backs, for example. It varies, depending on the player and the position they play.

Thanks, I understand the old aggression rating. But that's not really what I am asking, as it doesn't apply to PES2019. Let me ask it another way. I know it cant be purely about proximity to goal as Jan Koller is an 88 and he is a pretty static target man, playing high against the CB's, so if it came down purely to his default positioning he would be higher than Henry who roams all over the oppositions half. So there has to be more to it. What is that X factor. DISREGARDING special abilities/cards/playstyles, what is it that makes one CF's ATT rating higher
