Hey guys, totally forgot it but at it's some kind of tradition of our forum, I think it's time to have a topic for the biggest tournament of this year Your thoughts on favorites, matches and players - everything can be posted here. Regarding our match yesterday: Finally a good start in a tournement again and even more important -finally the team showed the efficiency that has made our NT a force for decades. Musiala and Wirtz proved again why they're arguably the most talented duo in this competition, if they continue to play like that we could really play a big role in the EC. Maybe I overestimated Scotland but from what I've seen yesterday, I was pretty disappointed since the team lacked both creativity and also mentality. Regarding the current match of Spain vs Croatia: Another good example why it's so important to convert your chances. The result should be 3:2 but since both Gvardiol and Majer didn't convert their chances, Spain will rather end up trashing Croatia then having a tough game until the last minute..

Even one day later I'm still shocked how Juranovic first fucked up the excellent counter attack in the 90.+6 minute and then also didn't mark his man two minutes later. For the rest, not just Modric, I feel sorry but that idiot should never wear the shirt of his NT again.. Regarding our match against Switzerland: I still don't get why Nagelsmann keeps playing Havertz as CF. It didn't work for Flick and it doesn't work now. He hasn't enough strength and most importantly he usually keeps on running away from his position in the box. We play with three AMFs behind him, there is absolutely zero need for him to go out of the box or on the wing. Füllkrug is much better choice for this team, hopefully Nagelsmann realizes that until Saturday..

We're witnessing the only team (apart from Turkey) that is able to win a group ahead of France/Netherlands and still look like total jerks doing it. Give Austria some proper opponent with a proper coach and you'll see how easy that team will be dismantled.. Seriously, that blond bastard who faked injury in the 90th minute, lying one centimeter in the field and ref stands beside him and the doctors, doing nothing about it..

I admit that I've had the chance to watch only the teams in Italy's group so far. I guess that a strong team will probably destroy Austria. And it's funny that you mentioned Turkey, because there's a high chance that Austria and Turkey will face each other in the first knockout round.

IMO it’s totally unfair that Lewandowski is allowed to stop completely twice while taking a penalty but Maignan is punished for leaving his line by a few centimetres. Something has to be done to stop these stupid penalty run-ups, it should have to be one fluid motion without changing your speed.

Worst Euro Cup ever IMHO, soooo boring... I felt asleep during every match I saw.

This has been a good tournament overall IMO, it’s just some teams like England and France have been horrible to watch, and some games turned into a total stalemate. There’s still things that annoy me, like in the Croatia-Italy game, it went to 3 minutes before Italy touched the ball, because Croatian defenders just passed the ball to each other in their own half. Some teams are too afraid to take risks, they just copy Guardiola’s style of boring passing for 90 minutes. Ironically Spain have probably been the most fun team because they are so direct. And others like Netherlands, Germany and Portugal are playing attacking football. Some tournaments in the 90s had 0 teams playing attacking football.
The best thing about this tournament has been the return of long range shots which seemed to be dying out.

I don't see any pathos, imho this 24 teams version really sucks, 24 teams and only 8 eliminated.

Looks like the real final (Spain vs Germany) will be in the quarter finals. England got quite an easy draw just like last Euros, although honestly with how every team has been playing so far, I wouldn't be surprised to see Austria reach the semi final or even the final. I don't see any surprises happening on the left side of the draw, it will be France vs Germany/Spain.

Jokes aside, I'm happy to see first-timers Georgia in the round-of-16, even though they'll be trashed by Spain.
