I was asking that because I created Flamengo 1981 and 1987 and was thinking on creating 2019 as well but I thought it would be more interesting to create an era team as 2019-22. But, in that case, I could create Flamengo 1978-83 first to represent the best era of the club.

Why not both? In practice I have seen both here. I confess that I don't see much point in era teams because often they simply don't correspond to reality, but we have many examples here on the forum.

I prefer AS teams. But following your reasoning, they also include players who weren't featured together. The only way to have teams with only players from the same period is to have era teams that cover only one-two seasons.

I also prefer AS teams, and for me this is the only time it makes sense to put players from different eras.

Maybe in a few years it will also be interesting, in addition to the Times AS, the 21th century AS teams.

Imagining colossus plays colossus will make the games more interesting, because anyway Real 50s playing Barca 90s or Real 2017 playing Barca 1992 are already impractical matches, so why should be bothered for Hierro and Ramos with the same shirt number

Incorporating an outstanding season (as long as it's supposed to be so) inside an era seems the best solution. You could provide the era team first and then add a season team in a spoiler. Of course there could be an isolated season team or an era team. An era is usually defined by a coach or under a specific president in an extended version.

Unfortunately, it's a quite common thing in Italy. This kind of scandal dates back to at least 1980 with the Totonero. Then there have been more cases in the 1980s and 2010s. There were also rumors about players like De Sanctis and Buffon. Who knows how many more teams and players were involved in match-fixing and got away with it. And as you say, it makes no sense to risk a career that already earns you enough money that can give you a comfortable or even wealthy life.
