He was also one of the most extreme cases of changing style of play over the years. When at Palmeiras he was a powerful center forward who used to break through opponents' defenses, very aggressive towards the goal. He used to take advantage of his strength and technique to pass through defenders. When a bit older at Fluminense and as always fighting against his overweight he didn't have a first good year at the club. That was when the coach decided to change him to right-inside position replacing an injured Lara. Romeu adapted very well in the new role and began to show a new version of him, a version much more impressive of himself. He became a great playmaker. As the writer João Máximo described: Romeu stopped being a star like many to become a star like a few. Spoiler: show |

Also, in which set he should change the stats? May you give an explanation for these changes? SPS and LPS have already been lowered and I don't see a reason for a further decrease. The first set has TW 76, while the second has 86, which makes sense considering that he played more in midfield and was praised for being a "tactical genius and team player". In fact, while he knew how to dribble and score, he relied on dribbling and shooting only when necessary. The press even named him among the best of the 1938 World Cup, where he played as IR. And I'm saying all this based on the article that you mentioned in your post. The only thing I'd change is COND less than 6 in both sets to highlight his "unathletic and overweight body". And since he was overweight, he may have his kg set on at least 70. |
