INFO:
Cristian Pavón is an Argentinian winger, who can also play as a second striker and a side midfielder. Born in Anisacate, Córdoba (21/01/1996), he started his professional career in his boyhood club Talleres (Cba.) aged 17. In July 2014 he was transferred to Boca Juniors, who paid $1.200.000 for his transfer, and was immediately loaned for six months to C.A. Colon. At the Santa Fe club, Pavón was instrumental in the promotion campaign with 5 goals and 5 assists in 21 games. In January 2015, Pavón fulfilled his loan and, at the request of coach Rodolfo Arruabarrena, returned to Boca to play the preseason. Right from the beginning, Pavón dazzled with excellent performances in the xeneize, although his moment of greatest brilliance came under the technical management of Guillermo Barros Schelotto; the winger became the best player in the league, winning the Primera Division in 2015 and the Superliga Argentina in the 2016-17 and 2017-18 seasons, year in which the AFA (Argentine Football Association) gave him the "Best Player in Argentina" award. On August 8, 2019, Pavón was transferred on loan to the Los Angeles Galaxy, also managed by Guillermo Barros Schelotto, to play the second half of the MLS season. He returned to Boca in 2021 and in his last 36 games, he scored 4 goals and had 5 assists. After completing his contractual relationship with Boca Juniors which ended on June 30, 2022. He would join the ranks of Club Atlético de Mineiro of Brazil's Serie A, thus signing a contract that linked him with the institution until June of 2025.
The player was once wanted by Arsenal in England, who were willing to pay $45,000,000 for his signing, although it ultimately did not materialize. Pavón, despite his enormous performance in the Argentine league during the second half of the 2010s, is one of the countless cases of Argentine players who failed to exploit his maximum potential.

For the National Team, Pavón was called up on November 2, 2017, by coach Jorge Sampaoli to play friendlies against Russia and Nigeria. He made his debut with the senior team on November 11, in the game against Russia, where he entered the 79th minute in place of Eduardo Salvio. Six minutes later, he assisted Sergio Agüero to score the final 1:0 Likewise, he provided another assist to Agüero in the match against the Nigerian national team, which Argentina lost 2-4. Pavón was called up to the 2018 World Cup in Russia, where he played every game, playing the first three against Iceland, Croatia and Nigeria from the substitute bench and starting in the round of 16 match against France.
