INFO:
Carlos "Chiche" Arano is a former Argentinian left-back who could also play as a wing-back and as a side midfielder. Born in Avellaneda, Buenos Aires (06/05/1980), he started his career at boyhood team Racing Club. He debuted in 1999, at the age of 19. Two years later he became champion of the 2001 Torneo Apertura with the Academy, contributing with a goal in his team's first game in the championship at 14 minutes in a 2-1 victory against Argentinos Juniors. In 2003 he tried his luck in Italy, more precisely in AC Siena and then in Perugia Calcio, where he could not stand out. Due to the lack of continuity, he returned to Argentina to wear the Quilmes A.C. shirt. In 2005 he defended the colors of Estudiantes de La Plata, and then joined Racing Club again. In 2008 he arrived at Club Atlético Huracán to play two seasons. In the 2009 Torneo Clausura, he was part of the team called "Los Ángeles de Cappa" along with a squad full of figures. Still, they did not become champions after losing the title match against Vélez Sarsfield in a match that was marked by the dubious work of the referee, Gabriel Brazenas.
He played abroad for a year and then returned to the country to play for River Plate, a team managed by Ángel Cappa at that time. He was resisted from the beginning and had low performances, which cost him his starting spot. River was not getting good results, therefore they fired Cappa, who was then replaced by Juan José López. After bad results, River Plate had to play the Promotion against Belgrano de Córdoba, and Chiche started both matches; ultimately, River would end up losing the category for the first time in their history. On June 28, 2013, he returned to Huracán at the request of the club's coach, Antonio Mohamed. At the end of 2014, he achieved promotion to the First Division and won the 2013-14 Argentine Cup after defeating Rosario Central on penalties. On April 25, 2015, he won the 2014 Argentine Super Cup after beating River Plate 1-0. On February 3, 2016, he joined Barracas Central's training sessions to compete in the Primera B championship, where he would finally retire from professional activity at the age of 36.
