'Morro' García was a Uruguayan footballer who played as a center-forward. Born in Montevideo (14/09/1990), 'Morro' made his professional debut in the final of the 2008 Liguilla Pre-Libertadores in which Nacional faced Defensor Sporting. He entered a few minutes into the first half for Diego Vera and scored the winning goal 24 minutes into the second half. In his career at Nacional, he was characterized by scoring transcendental goals: he scored in final matches against Danubio, Defensor, and Peñarol; in addition to key goals in the Copa Libertadores (for example, in the 2011 edition he scored all of his team's goals). He was the top scorer in the 2010 Torneo Apertura, scoring 15 goals in 15 games played and thus achieving an average of 1 goal per game. Finally, he became the top scorer for the 2010-11 season with 23 goals, being the first player raised in Nacional to achieve such distinction since the 1986 Uruguayan Football Championship, when Juan Ramón Carrasco was the top scorer with eleven goals. He would later be accused of consuming cocaine during the course of the finals of the Uruguayan Championship. In June of that year, his transfer to Athletico Paranaense was completed, being the most expensive transfer in the history of the Brazilian club. García made his scoring debut in Paranaense on the 23rd. July 2011, scoring both goals in a 2-1 victory against Botafogo. After a spell in Turkish football at Kasımpaşa, he returned to Nacional in mid-2013. In August 2014 the player was transferred to River Plate of Uruguay. On January 6, 2016, he was transferred to Godoy Cruz Antonio Tomba to face the First Division tournament in Argentina, where he formed an attacking duo with the Ecuadorian Jaime Ayoví. His first match in the "Tomba" was against Rosario Central, while his first goal was against C.A. Independiente in a 1-1 draw on February 12 of that year. His first double with the Tomba shirt was against Banfield in an agonizing 3-2 victory. He scored again in the 3-1 victory against Patronato de Paraná and against Olimpo de Bahía Blanca he was the author of the only goal of the match. In the Clásico Cuyano, against San Martín de San Juan, he scored the only goal of the match with a goal from a free kick. He quickly won the affection of the institution's fans. When he established himself in the institution and became captain of the club, it was curious that he asked the Mendozan institution that the armband have the Tomba badge but with a tricolor background (red, white, and blue), in honor of Club Nacional, team of which he is a fan. In the second half of the first edition of the Argentine Superliga, he managed to become Godoy Cruz's top scorer ever in the First Division. His goals and his charisma made him a symbol of the Mendoza team. During his stay at the club, he was tempted to be transferred abroad on several occasions, but he continued to prioritize his desire to remain in Mendoza, a place where he felt very comfortable.

On February 6, 2021, he was found dead as a result of a self-inflicted gunshot wound in his apartment in Mendoza. Previously, García had been in psychiatric treatment for depression. Hours later, it was confirmed that the cause of his death was suicide. According to the prosecutor in the case, the incident occurred during the early hours of Thursday, February 4. As a posthumous tribute, the Godoy Cruz team officially retired the number 18 shirt, which was used during his stay at the club. The Tomba fans said goodbye to his remains, bound for Montevideo, with a great accompaniment from the wake room in the Mendozan city of Maipú, to the Francisco Gabrielli Airport in the City of Mendoza. In turn, Nacional tried to hold a wake for him at its Gran Parque Central Stadium, but the Ministry of Public Health of his country rejected such a request because it understood that it did not comply with the health emergency protocols. However, the funeral procession passed in front of the Nacional headquarters, where hundreds of fans were waiting to say goodbye. After the news of his death, several footballers - including his friends Luis Suárez and Edison Cavani - paid tribute to Morro by celebrating their goals with his traditional goal celebration.
