INFO:
Enrique Hrabina is an Argentinian former footballer who played as a left-back. Born in the Buenos Aires neighborhood of Villa Devoto (09/11/1961), Hrabina started his professional career at C.A. Atlanta in 1979. He remained at the Villa Crespo club until 1983, forming an important part of the team that became champion of the Primera B and was promoted to the first division in 1983. Hrabina remembers the final for promotion to the first division in 1982 as the saddest moment of his career: after tying on aggregate against C.A. Temperley, the two clubs went to a penalty shootout that lasted more than 13 shots each. When the score was 12-12, Héctor Cassé saved Enrique Hrabina's penalty and, in the next shot, Ricardo Dabrowski converted the final 13-12, which allowed Temperley to return to the First Division. That same year, Hrabina was sold to C.A. San Lorenzo, where he stayed for a year with very good performances that allowed him to arrive in 1985 at the club he loved, Boca Juniors.
He arrived at Boca Juniors in a challenging time, during a title drought that the club had never suffered. He quickly became a character much loved by Boca fans because, despite his technical shortcomings, he demonstrated a fierce style, leaving everything on the field. The fans remember him as a man who never gave up, who played even when injured, and who left all of himself whenever he put on the Boca shirt; he is also remembered for his infamous tackles with his head. During the 1985 and 1988 seasons, he was the starting left back and captain of Boca. During these years he suffered several injuries although this did not prevent him from continuing to play even when injured; this ended up causing problems for him in the future, since his inaction made him lose mobility and speed, starting to play more often as a center back and alternating starting positions. Hrabina ultimately won for Boca the 1989 Supercopa Sudamericana and the 1990 Recopa Sudamericana. He would play his last game on December 22, 1991, against Talleres de Córdoba, definitively retiring from professional activity the following year at the age of 30.
