Mirko Saric was one of the great promises of argentine football in the late 90s. Technical and elegant defensive midfielder from San Lorenzo, with a eye-catching game, good shooting and correct positioning, both to attack and receive the forwards.
His quality was not an exaggeration of the press at that time, Real Madrid offered 10 million euros for the young Argentine to make him the replacement of Fernando Redondo.
Mirko suffered from depression, no one knew how to understand him or support him; Unfortunately, on April 4, 2000, he took his own life. Many in the Argentine football environment still wonder what would have happened to that elegant talent, if life had not hit him like this.
