Zumelzú was one of the stars of the 1920s, undefeated champion with Racing Club, champion of two Copa América with Argentina, world runner-up in 1930 and Olympic runner-up in 1928.
He had a peculiar career, his best performance came in Racing, but there he lasted only one year, enough to be considered a legend.
The official site of the Avellaneda club would describe him as: "He was not fast and his walk was slow, bordering on indifference. But he had a great sense of ubiquity and gave the sensation that the ball was looking for him... and found him. Furthermore of his confidence with the ball at his feet, he showed himself as a clear and fluid exit; but he was also brave and fought for every ball to the last consequences."
His "slow" walk earned him great criticism at the time, including a letter from journalist Borocotó.
