- He came from Šiah, studied in Banská Bystrica and played for the local Slavia. At the age of 17 he was already a regular at KFC Komárno and in 1930 he became a player for I. ČsŠK Bratislava, when his nationality problems were resolved and he was able to play in the league for the Slovak national team. He played alongside Bull, Šoral, Priboj and immediately won the title of Czechoslovak amateur champion. He was a good scorer, but already in the year of his arrival the coaches moved him to defence and he gained fame in that position. Slavia Prague also became interested in him and in 1935, when he was in excellent form, he moved there. In Prague he became champion of the SEP and represented the Czech Republic 15 times, taking part in the 1938 World Cup. He was on a par with the best Czech players, from Plániček to Nejedlý. He was always interested in coaching. Already in Prague he managed the youth team of Slavia as a player, and when he returned to Bratislava during the war years he became the coach of our ŠK. He lived there for six successful years. He set himself the task of introducing a modern WM system. He gathered talents in Slovakia and achieved results. Master's title with ŠK, with a score of 121:34 with twelve participants. Later, together with L. Šťastný, they laid the foundation with three consecutive master's titles and broke the Czech hegemony for the first time. A confirmation of Daučík's qualities was the fact that in two matches in 1948 he was the coach of the national team against Switzerland (1:1) and Austria (3:1). Ferdinand's brother Karol also played in the white jersey in the years when the team advanced to the national league. "Gandi", according to the white patch in his black hair, was a tough and determined defender with accurate kicks. Later, the great coach emigrated to Spain. He worked at FC Barcelona, but enjoyed great prestige throughout Spain. He had a great knowledge of modern football and the playing systems, which he used in his practice. As a player and coach, he was probably the one who did the most at the Belas Bratislava club, although he also helped a lot for the Spaniards, where he lived.
- He was a fast, strong and technical defender.
