Ahmed Mubarak Kano is regarded as one of the pillars of Omani football, with a career spanning more than twenty years across Gulf clubs and the national team. He began his journey with Al-Orouba Club and later played professionally in the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and Kuwait, gaining extensive experience in different leagues. Internationally, he was one of Oman’s most-capped players, participated in several AFC Asian Cup editions, and contributed to winning the Arabian Gulf Cup, most notably the 2018 edition. He played as a holding/central midfielder, and despite his defensive role, he scored goals in World Cup qualifiers and some continental competitions. He was distinguished by his defensive strength, high tactical awareness, and ability to control the tempo of play, making him a cornerstone of the team for many years, and he was known as a calm, reliable leader who combined discipline, fighting spirit, and experience, becoming a symbol of modern Omani football.
