Hani Al-Dhabit is regarded as one of the most prominent Omani and Gulf strikers and the all-time top scorer of the national team with 43 international goals. Some consider him the best striker in the history of Omani football. The forward was renowned for his effective playing style and his natural ability to score from half-chances inside the penalty area. He achieved a global distinction when he was crowned the world’s top goal scorer in 2001 by the International Federation of Football History & Statistics (IFFHS). Al-Dhabit led the national team to notable achievements, including reaching the semifinals of the 1995 FIFA U-17 World Cup and winning the Golden Boot of the 2002 Gulf Cup. He spent most of his career with Dhofar Club and left an indelible mark on the history of Omani sports before retiring.
