Attack / Defence Awareness Card: BalancedINFOS:Deco has legendary status with Porto fans. He was the key player in the club's second European title won in 2004 and was named Man of the Match in the final. He played as an attacking midfielder, but could also play as central or side midfielder. His remarkable technical skills earned him a nickname "Magico". He was incredible dribbler, with fantastic first touch of the ball and a sleeve full of tricks to cross the opponent. In addition to that, he was amazing passer with lethal last pass that could tear apart every defense. He was active in both ways frequently helping his defensive teammates and organizing attacks. He was good free kick taker with hard shot. His biggest flaws were his speed which was below average and he was pretty weak in physical duels. But these flaws can't deny his class. Above all, he was great team player.
Deco was the first player to win the UEFA Best Midfielder Award with two clubs, Porto and Barcelona. He was second in Ballon D'Or competition in 2004, but he won UEFA player of the year in 2003/04 season. He won a lot of team trophies and many individual awards. He is born in Brazil, but he took Portuguese citizenship and represented them in 75 games. He represented Portugal at two European Championships and two World Cups.
