"Shaw, Williams, prepared to venture down the left. There's a good ball in for Tony Morley. Oh, it must be and it is! It's Peter Withe". A legendary commentary from Brian Moore about Aston Villa's most important goal ever. Peter Withe was the one to score it. A nomadic striker,played for a numerous clubs and never had a real success before settling in Aston Villa. And then the fairytale started. In his first season for the Villans he scored 20 goals and was named the Top Scorer in the league. His goals helped the club to win their first league title after 71 years. In the next season, he scored a winning goal in the European Cup Final, making the debutants champions of the competition. During his period at Aston Villa, he played for the national team 11 times scoring once. He was a striker who could hold the ball, very strong, but slow, with good ball control, and also a player who can distribute the ball well to the available player. He preffered the first time passing. As for scoring, his main attribute was his amazing heading. He played for the Villans in 230 games and scored 90 times.
