Mladen Ramljak was born on 1 June 1945 in Zagreb and died on 13 September 1978 near Novska. He is one of legendary ‘Modri’ golden generation from 1967 players that won The Inter-Cities Fairs Cup.

Ramljak started his football career in Dinamo Zagreb football school. Mladen quickly developed in excellent defender and become one of most famous Dinamo players in history. Through years of 1962 to 1973, Ramljak spend in Dinamo, firstly as left back and later as sweeper. He played in 523 matches for Dinamo and scored four league goals. Ramljak won three Yugoslavian national cups in 1963, 1965, 1969, and was three times runner-up with ‘Plavi’ in same competition. Although Ramljak played in legendary Dinamo generation in Dinamo history, it is unbelievable that he never won Yugoslavian first league. 4 times he finished as runners up with Dinamo in Yugoslavian first league (1960, 1963, 1966, and in 1969). With Dinamo, Ramljak also finished 4 times third in first league (1962, 1964, 1968, and 1971). He was a member of the 1967. Fairs/Uefa Cup who won the greatest trophy in the history of the club and a member of generation ‘63 that reached a final of Fairs/Uefa Cup for that year.

Mladen Ramljak left Dinamo in winter of 1973, and went to Holland. Until 1977, he successfully played for Feyenoord from Rotterdam, in which he played 68 league matches, scoring one goal. Later he also played for another Dutch club AZ 67.

Besides five matches for youth (1962-1964), one for under-21 (1964) and one for "B" squad (1964), Ramljak also played 13 matches for Yugoslavia national team. He debut on 8 May of 1966 in match vs. Hungary (2:0) in Zagreb on sweeper position. Last match for Yugoslavia he played as right back on 13 May 1972 vs. USSR (0:3) in Moscow.

He tragically died in a car accident at the age of 33 in fall 1978 on motor-road near City of Novska.

In mark of remembrance on longtime first team player, from 2003 NK Dinamo Zagreb held Memorial Tournament “Mladen Ramljak" on which every year well known European and World’s Clubs teams gathers.
