Nando was central defensive midfielder who played on the right side. Although he was often described as destroyer like Gattuso, actually he was very fast and creative player. Player with good ball control and passing range, able to collect the ball from defence and start the attacks with good short passes and even useful lofted passes. He could send good cross from set pieces as well. Very tenacious player with good speed, dynamic and strong physically. Better in defensive tasks, intercepting, tackling and recovering balls in midfield. He rarely scored although he could generate good kicking power but those balls often ended couple of meters from the goal. Anyway he was very skillful at volleys, scored some goals like that and certainly those shots looked way better than normal ones. He was tireless fighter and attacked directly the opponent, but also knew to make good runs with the ball down the right flank and than pass it to Maradona or Careca, rather than concluding the action himself.
