INFO:

One of the greatest scorers in history of the game. Wilimowski was natural scoring machine with excellent dribbling abilities. He had very accurate shot and it's interesting he scored most of his goals with left foot although he had more kicking power in his right foot. Ezi was great technician with superb control of the ball and all those tricks, he was also very skillful to beat his rivals with quick sudden turns and deceptions. He was very agile with good pace and scoring instinct but knew to exaggerate with his dribblings and had problems with alcohol. His football career began in 1927 with eleven years in the German-Silesian first FC Katowice, where he played until 1934 successfully. After the change to Ruch Wielkie Hajduki he was back in 1934 as a 18-year-old Polish football champion. This title he won with his team in 1935, 1936 and 1938. In 86 games for Ruch Chorzow Willimowski scored 112 goals and was top scorer in 1934 and 1936 Polish. On 21 May 1934, he debuted in the Polish national team against Denmark in Copenhagen. Poland lost the game 2:4. Before the Second World War, he played 22 times for the Polish national football team. His best game was probably the second round match here at the Football World Cup 1938 in France, when he played for the 5:6 defeat after extra time against Brazil scored four goals - he is the first to reach the four goals in a World Cup match. In total he scored 21 goals for the Polish national team. After the German invasion of Poland was Willimowski, similar to the Poznan team mate Frederick Scherfke, again applied for German citizenship and as a police officer in order to escape the draft into the army. After a stop at his home club (1939-1940) first FC Katowice in 1940, he moved to Chemnitz in Chemnitz, and played for PSV. His debut for the German national football team he was on 1 June 1941 in Bucharest against Romania, where he contributed two goals for a 4-1 victory. 1942 Willimowski went to TSV 1860 Munich. By the sixties, he moved in the same year in the finals of the East-Tschammer and one Cup, the predecessor of today's DFB Cup. In the 80th Minute, he scored the 1-0 lead against FC Schalke 04 In the end it was 2-0 for the Munich, which thus won their first national trophy. A total of 14 goals get to him in this competition - Record up to today. 1941/42 he completed eight appearances for the DFB and scored 13 goals. At 5-3 success on 18 October 1942 against Switzerland, he repeated his feat from the World Cup four years ago and scored four goals. After 1945 Willimowski remained in Germany. By spring 1947, he played consistently for the SG-west of Chemnitz with short side trips to Babelsberg and SG to Arolsen. He then left the former Soviet zone and joined - after another very short interludes at Rapid-Kassel and TSV Detmold - the country's emerging division team at Hameln 07. Willimowski had also enlisted in 1946 or later for a (failed) professional football club was founded in Kassel, Hesse-Cassel may have some games for Cassel denied. In 1948, the 32-year-old forward contract player at BC Augsburg. After a months-long barrier in the summer of 1949 he moved to Racing Strasbourg was, but even there, there were problems in the non-sport area and the newcomer immediately released. From 1949/50 was Willimowski back into calmer waters. He was player-manager at Offenburg FV, worked later as a striker-oldie in the big leagues, the most successful of VfR Kaiserslautern, and belongs to the European small group of footballers who have in the course of her career total reached more than 200 Erstligatore (in Poland and Germany, without Gauliga). Overall, Willimowski during his career goals have scored at least 1175, but this requires verification. Ernst Willimowski was a historic link between the two nations and as such ahead of its time. He is the only player to have both a goal against Germany (on September 9, 1934 at 2:5 in Warsaw) as well as Germany scored (13 in 8 games). He died in 1997.
