Hey guys, as we had the same thread four years ago, I thought it would be a good idea to have one for the 2018 WC as well What teams do you consider as favorites on the cup? Who will be the stars of the tournament? Russia opened the tournament with a 5:0 against Saudi Arabia. Beautiful goals by Cheryshev, especially the second one

I know it's early after only one match but those teams, even though they are not so great, have Ronaldo and Kane who are able to change a match. Messi, Neymar still have two matches to show how much they can be determining. Portugal? England? so fanny xD Portugal one man team and England and his "cold chest" xD I rather chose Brazil, Germany or Spain.

Well, i certainly won't take confidently Brazil, Germany and Spain for the title.

No shit Sherlock Unlike Gündogan (who a) at least tried to "explain" why he met with that dictator and b) sings our national anthem) Özil prefered to be quiet (+ he is the only one in our NT who doesn't sing the anthem).. But I guess it's hard to understand the Erdogan affair when you're not from our country..

Either way, i think Germany should play now with 3 in the back, cuz Kimmich and Plattenhardt totally forgot their key role yesterday, they were acting like WB/SMF.

Great Japan!!! I couldn't watch the match so I don't know if they deserved to win but I'm happy for them!

Colombia played from the third minute in 10 for the expulsion of Carlos Sanchez and in the end all this influenced the game. In any case, Japan deserved the victory with a perfect match tactically exploiting the extra man in an optimal way!

Russia is the first to qualify for the round-of-16. Surprising team!

Since Hector is expected to be fit again, Plattenhardt surely won't play again. The problem aren't only Kimmich's offensive runs, after all Müller and especially Khedira did nothing to cover them.. Tbh, this is the XI, that I would choose for Saturday: -----------------------Neuer----------------------- ------Boateng------Hummels------Süle---------- ---Kimmich---Gündogan---Kroos---Hector------ ---------------Müller--------Reus----------------- ---------------------Werner----------------------- But you can be sure that this won't happen, rather Müller will be removed from starting XI than both Draxler and Özil

I rather want Gómez to be back instead of playing with Werner again. But then, the Swedish defenders are too slow, so maybe Timo may have a better chance than against Mexico.
