Defence MindedINFO:Zoppelletto was a defensive midfielder who played in the center and left. He could play also as side-back − his favourite position − and sweeper. He spent almost his whole career in Vicenza: over 200 matches from 1952 to 1966. In the middle the 1956-57 season in Reggiana, the following in Mestrina − both on loan. In 1966-67 he played in Savona where he retired.
Zoppelletto was a strong player. His main task was not letting his opponents touched the ball and he did that by marking them tight. He always tried to be fair: he didn't provoke, he didn't throw the ball away to waste time, he tried to avoid fauls but when he made them, he tackled the opponent roughly but not with violence; everytime he accidentally hit the leg, he always apologized; though, this firmness actually caused many fauls and he took many cards − often considered wrongful or exceeding. He didn't have remarkable technique but he had determination, tenacity, consistency. Zoppelletto was also a good header, just like his teammate Giorgio De Marchi.
