Defence MindedINFO:Bossola was a defender who played 106 matches for Pro Vercelli from 1919 to 1925 and 46 games for Parma between 1925 and 1928. He was a regular starter in Pro Vercelli in the last four seasons with the club. He was a first choice in Parma as well and here he scored his only goal in career, against Lucchese on 3rd October 1926.
Bossola formed in Pro Vercelli a fantastic couple of defenders alongside Virginio Rosetta. With an unmatched chemistry, they were both admirable due to vision of the play, positioning, reliability, power of clearances. Bossola was a careful and strong player who blocked his opponents, intercepted passes and shots, occasionally set up the play with passes towards the midfielders or forwards. Sometimes, he used to do spectacular clearances, alternating them with strong tackles. In fact, despite never scoring for Pro Vercelli, he scored a prestigious own-goal in 1922 against Genoa: while trying to reject a ball in corner, he unfortunately sent it in his own goal with an overhead kick; the match fortunately ended 1-2 for Pro Vercelli.
