Defence MindedINFO:Scorsa was a sweeper − considered one of the pioneers of the position − and centre back. He spent most of his career at Ascoli from 1974 to 1983, playing 214 matches and he's the club's record-man for Serie A appearances. He also spent five seasons at Cesena between 1967 and 1972, appearing 106 times. He played also for Bologna, Foggia and Ravenna. He retired in 1984.
Scorsa wasn't the typical defender who stayed in the back for the entire match and payed attention only to the defensive phase. He participated actively to the attack, building up the plays and pushing forward head-on with the ball on his feet. His good reaction made him save the goal from many shots but his not too excellent defensive ability led him to cause several fauls. However he was often one of the best Ascoli players in the match and because of that, during the first seasons with the team journalists used to think that he should've played for a bigger club.
