One of the crucial parts of brillant Swedish NT which won '48 Olympics. Bertil started to play as centre forward in his early years, but for majority of his career he was used as centre half and wing half. He was very strong player who used his strength in hard tackling and did well job in '48 final on marking Stjepan Bobek. He had good sense of positioning and tachnique which allowed him to play well at both defence and midfield. Nordahl came from a football family. His younger brothers Knut and Gunnar and the twins Gösta and Göran also played in the highest Swedish league, sometimes abroad. 1948 Bertil Nordahl was as Sweden's Footballer of the Year award with the Guldbollen after the year before his brother Gunnar who received the award. Knut Nordahl 1949, his successor. He played for Degerfors IF and Atalanta B.C. He won the gold medal at the 1948 Summer Olympics, along with his brothers Knut and Gunnar Nordahl. Bertil Nordahl played an important role in the Swedish Olympic gold in London in 1948 and was awarded the Golden Ball after. He then became the second in a series of Swedish professional football player who went to Italy. His professional career took a final after only three seasons because of severe knee injury in a game against the Lucchese in 1951. Nordahl began his career in his hometown in Hörnefors IF. There has been drawing attention to the technically gifted players and in 1942 he moved to Degerfors IF. After the Olympics, he and Gunnar transferred to Italy and, due to being in a professional football league while the Swedish football was all amateur, they were not called to the 1950 FIFA World Cup. He was capped 15 times for the Sweden national football team. After his playing career, he coached Örebro SK and IK Brage. Bertil Nordahl died on 01/12/1998.
