INFO:

The Austrian scoring machine, Dienst, just like years later Gerd Müller, did not have the reputation of a trickster. For him there was only one thing: with force into the penalty area, headers and shots on the opponent's goal from all positions. He always managed to get the opponent running and attacking next to him to stop, and suddenly, with lightning speed, cleared the way for himself in front of the opposing goal. Dienst was strong player with great sense of positioning, collecting great Riegler's passes and scoring. But also had very good heading abilities and profited from excellent crosses by Korner brothers, especially Robert Korner. He had good understanding with teammates and eye for a goal so many times he just had to make simple tap-in and score. Robert began his career with the service Floridsdorfer AC, for whom he scored his first goal changed, but in 1948 the Rapid after Hütteldorf. In his first season with the Green-Whites, he was runner-up and made his debut for the Austrian national team against Hungary, where he immediately scored a goal. Rapid Robert was serving in the aftermath dominate the championship and 11 seasons long finish no worse than second in the table and get the championship six times to Hütteldorf. The striker was top scorer four times as significant share of it. Internationally, he was with the victory in Zentropapokal 1951, celebrating the successor of the competition Mitropacups, successes. With the national team while it was in preparation for the World Cup in Switzerland in 1954, after Portugal in World Cup qualifying game in which also met Robert Dienst, was dismissed with 9:1. Robert Service is the first game of the World Cup in a 1-0 victory over Scotland to use but it needs to in the following games with Walter Schleger of Austria Ernst Wagner Stojaspal Turl and make space in the attack. The Austrian team reach the semifinals where they lost, however, Germany. In the small final for third place with Austria meets Robert Dienst on the reigning world champions Uruguay to date. Can was placed in service after the opposing penalty area, Ernst Stojaspal selectively turn the penalty prone to 1:0 - Austria wins 3-1 and finished the World Cup in Switzerland in third place. Robert Dienst is also in the squad for the World Cup 1958 in Sweden, but he is no longer used, and also comes later, no more team honors. In Rapid Robert can provide, apart from the national title, even in international business again cause a stir and move into the semifinals of the 1961 European Cup of Champions, where the Green-Whites, however, fail to Benfica. Robert Dienst in 1962 leaves the club and can finish his career at SV Schwechat. Later he tried to coach and also serves as his home club Floridsdorfer AC, Tulln, SV Stockerau and Kremser SC some small clubs. He is also at Rapid 1967/68 worked as an assistant coach (double gain) as well as in the Austria Vienna 1974/75. In 2007, seven years after his death, the Wien Floridsdorf alley was named after him.
