The best ever Werder Bremen player who was selected in 1952 as the best player of Olympics tournament ahead of Ferenc Puskas. Just like Pfaff and Rohrig, even Schroder didn't make big impact in NT because of Herberger's obsession with Fritz Walter. Willi was great playmaker and scorer, fantastic technician with vast repertory of dribblings and tricks, great ball control and creativity, two footed player, free kick specialist, authentic viruoso and stunning playmaker but also very good scorer as well. With the red wine rose Schroeder in 1949 in the Amateur League Bremen, won with his team-mates from 1950 to 1952 three consecutive runner-up. His outstanding performances were the Bremen on 14 amateur soccer players May 1950 in northern Germany during the selection of representative game against West Germany in Cologne conducted.
