BalancedINFO:Bellotto was an enforcer defensive midfielder. He played in Serie B, C and D with a few different clubs including Reggina, Brescia and Modena. He joined Ascoli in 1977, gaining a Serie A promotion in the first season. In the following three Serie A seasons, he didn't miss a match. He played a total of 136 matches with the
Bianconeri in four seasons, scoring 17 goals. He transferred to Sampdoria in 1981 and played 85 games in three seasons, scoring once. He retired in 1986 after a two year spell at Mestre.
Bellotto was a fast player, gifted with grit, constistency and determination. He was a tireless runner who mostly participated to the attack but he could also cover the spaces and try to block the offensive maneuvers. However he was more effective when attacking than defending since he easily committed fauls. He wasn't very able at setting up the play since he wasn't a passing specialist. He preferred acting as additional striker, taking advantage of his powerful shots and headers − despite being a short player − helped by a good leaping ability.
