INFO:

Bobby Clark is a legendary Aberdeen goalkeeper, their most capped goalkeeper with 591 appearances. Clark was a solid goalkeeper, known for his calm and humble personality and his reliable performances. Not a spectacular shot stopper, but he had very good positioning and was proactive in his style, quick off his line and good at claiming crosses despite not being very physically dominant. Overall he had good control of his box and never panicked or flapped at the ball. He was happy to come out of the goal and intercept passes, even using his feet on occasion which was rare back then. Curiously, he played a few games as a centre back for Aberdeen after losing his place as first choice goalkeeper for a short time, and was said to have performed admirably in the unfamiliar position. His career was sometimes interrupted by injuries but he was still a regular in the team for 15 years and captain for a few of those years. Clark also earned 17 caps for Scotland and was an unused backup at the 1978 World Cup. At one point he also held the world record for consecutive minutes without conceding a goal, going 1,155 minutes without conceding in any competition in the 1970/71 season.
