Professional career began in 1968 in Dinamo Tbilisi, for which stood until 1980, playing the 297 matches and scored 42 ball against rivals. Repeatedly went out on the field as a captain of the team. In 1980, was forced to resign from Dinamo because of a conflict with the leadership team, in the same season was transferred to Pakhtakor Tashkent, which spent 13 matches and scored 1 goal. In 1981, moved to Spartak Moscow, but played only 2 matches. That same year moved to Torpedo Kutaisi, which stood until the player's career in 1982, after the 45 matches, scoring 6 goals, together with the Club moved to the Highest League.

USSR National Team: 4 matches in 1976 and 1979.
USSR Olympic team played 4 matches, scoring 1 goal.

Champion of USSR: 1978.
Silver-prize winner of the USSR: 1977.
