INFOLeif "Chappe" Eriksson, born March 20, 1942 in Köping, is a former Swedish soccer player and bandy player. He was talented striker but lacked consistency. Able to play on the wing and in the middle, had decent pace and agility, very flexible on tight space. Leif started as a soccer player in Köpings IS. In 1960, Leif Eriksson was recruited by Djurgården's IF, where he twice became Swedish champion. In 1969 he transferred to Örebro SK, and in 1972 to OGC Nice. He stayed for five years, played 153 games, scored 43 goals. After a year he was named France's best player in 1973 and transferred to SC Cannes in 1975, before ending his football career in 1976-1979 in IK Sirius. Leif played 64 international matches, 49 of which in the A national team. Leif was also active in bandy where he played with Djurgårdens IF and IK Sirius.
