Al-Temyat was an exceptionally talented player who was to become the successor of Al-Thunayan for both club and country, and he was starting to live up to that title before his career was severely disrupted by a series of cruel injuries from 2001 to 2004. He was mainly a number 10 although he could effectively play on both sides and also in a deeper role in midfield. He was like the Saudi version of Zidane, a very elegant player that could use his balance and beautiful technique to keep the ball and smartly release it while also having the ability to play some killer passes. Although he wasn't very quick or much of a fighter, he was very composed and often relied upon to create dangerous opportunities. He was good with both feet, and wasn't afraid to shoot from outside the box although the shots weren't always accurate. He was actually a very similar player to Fahad Al-Bishi, although significantly stronger and more focused on creative tasks, while he wasn't as hard working or very gifted defensively. Without the injuries, he could have been one of the greatest Saudi players, and even in the middle of his most injury-prone period, he was Saudi Arabia's best player at their disastrous 2002 World Cup. At his best in his early 20s, he was a dominant player in Asian football, especially in 2000 where he won the Asian Champions League with Al-Hilal and finished as runner up in the Asian Cup with his country, being arguably the best player for both teams. In particular, he's remembered for his performance in the quarter final of the latter tournament, where he opened the scoring, created a beautiful assist and then scored the golden goal with a fantastic left footed strike in a 3-2 win over Kuwait.
