Sirigu is a goalkeeper. He grew up at Palermo, where he played in 2006-07 and between 2009 and 2011, making 80 appearances. In the middle of the two spells, he played for Cremonese and Ancona. He joined Paris Saint-Germain in 2011, playing 190 matches in four seasons and a half. After short experiences at Sevilla and Osasuna, he came back to Italy in 2017, transferring to Torino, where he played 152 games in four years. He then played for Genoa in 2021-22 and signed for Fiorentina in January 2023. He capped for Italy 28 times.
One of the best Italian goalkeepers of the 2010s, Sirigu is gifted with outstanding reflexes that allow him to stop powerful shots from near distance or to get up quickly after a save in order to make a second one. He's also excellent at diving at the last second to deflect the ball. Capable of making great leaps, he can reach high balls even when the shot comes long range with power. Outstanding out of the goal, he can save the ball even in the middle of the box when the opposing forward is very close to him. Sometimes though he has troubles at stopping the opponent on the run, causing some penalties. Nonetheless, he shows excellent mentality in most matches, continuously making formidable saves throughout the whole length. Particularly gifted with the feet, he uses them to stop low shots, and he occasionally shows some dribbling skill.
