INFO:Abdoulaye Keïta was a goalkeeper. He spent his entire career at Hafia FC where he played from 1970 to the late 1980s, enjoying great success during the club's golden era. He capped for Guinea around 50 times between 1975 and 1988. The national team captain throughout the 1980s, he filled the role with exemplary nature.
Keïta began practicing swimming at a young age, not choosing football immediately. As a swimmer, he developed flexibility, crawling and diving from 3 to 10 meters. These skills became essential during his career as a goalkeeper. He had to hard task to replace a mainstay like Bernard Sylla as starter in both Hafia and Guinea squads, but Keïta managed to do it, even earning the nickname "Banks" after the legendary English goalkeeper. Keïta was agile, intelligent, athletic, energetic, gifted with excellent jump, reflexes, sense of positioning and the ability to stop the ball with acrobatic saves on the goal line, showing remarkable aerial feats.
