INFO:
Minga was a defensive or central midfielder. His career started in 1965. He played for Patronage Saint-Anne until 1971. He then transferred to Inter Brazzaville where he played until his retirement in 1983. He represented Congo from 1969 to 1975, capping at least 21 times, scoring 3 goals and winning the 1972 Africa Cup of Nations.
Minga was a solide and well-balanced midfielder who, despite his short frame, never let himself be intimidated by bigger opponents. He was gifted with great determination, stamina, remarkable technical qualities, vision, high accuracy with both feet. His style of play was elegant, simple, but effective. His task was to break the opposing attacks, which he sometimes did with fierce, and then organise the play by distributing the ball with charm and right timing, rarely giving in to panic. As he often moved forward to join the attack himself, it was common for him to attempt the shot when he had the chance.
He scored the goal against Cameroon in the semifinal of the 1972 African Cup in what is considered Minga's most legendary match. He moved forward from his half-back role to an attacking midfielder position and beat Cameroon's goalkeeper with a left-footed shot at the end of an attack orchestrated by him and Balékita ─ the two had great chemistry at Inter Brazzaville too.
