INFO:Moukila was an attacking midfielder who could also play as secondary striker, winger and centre-forward. Raised at Inter Brazzaville, he then spent the majority of his professional career at CARA Brazzaville where he played from 1971 to 1975 and 1976 to 1980. He had a brief spell in the French Division 1 in 1975-76 with Strasbourg. He retired in France in 1986 after playing for Stade Français in Division 2, Fontainebleau and Municipale de Malakoff in lower leagues. He represented Congo from 1970 to 1978, capping 31 times and scoring 11 goals. Although, other sources mention him as the player with most appearances for Congo with 93. He won the African Balon d'Or in 1974 and he's the only Congolese player to win the award.
Considered one of Africa's best ever players and Congo's greatest, according to some, Moukila was primarily an inside-left, role where he could show at best his vision and ability to break through defences either on or off the ball. His versatility, movements and intelligence allowed him to play effectively in all attacking positions. Moukila possessed excellent technical skills and amazing ability to find his teammates in attack. He could be either the man who provides the decisive pass or the link between midfielder and attack or the one who finishes the action thanks to his ability on the ball and accuracy with both feet. In fact, while he was genius with his natural left foot, he could use the right equally well.
Moukila was extremely decisive for Congo during the 1972 African Cup campaign. During this tournament, the attacking midfielder preferred to play for the team who were particularly focused in the offense throughout the competition. Unfortunately, he didn't seem as efficient during the final and was even substituted at the start of the second half.
He was more individualistic with his club CARA Brazzaville. He was the main reason behind the club's win of the 1973-74 African Cup of Champions Clubs as he was top scorer of the the tournament with 10 goals. He scored two of them in the first leg of the final, won 4-2 against Egyptian team Ghazl El Mahalla. The first goal was a penalty. Moukila also holds the record for most goals scored in a single league season with 40 in 1971-72.
