Attack / Defence Awareness Card: Defence MindedINFOS:Ilija Najdoski was a legendary player of both Vardar and Red Star, and a player who lifted Toyota Cup for the Red Star. In Red Star he was a muscle part of the great defensive duo (Belodedici was a much classier player). He earned a reputation of a bonebreaker, even though he never injured an opponent (by his own words). His playing style was uncompromising, often ruthless, and many opposition players were feared of him. In addition to his strength, he possessed great marking and tackling ability, his reactions were quick and also his sprints which helped him a lot against great opponents. When the opponent players were arriving, he was the first line of defense, with his characteristic runs towards the player and that resulted in recovering the ball, or knocking the opponent down, there wasn't third option. He could be fooled when he ran out, but his luck was that Belodedici watched his back all the time. He was great in aerial play, and he joined regularly to his teammates in the opposition penalty box whenever there was a corner kick for his team. As a result of his playing style, he was booked a lot, and even got himself injured on some occasions. He earned his nickname after Serbian saint, as his tackles hit opponents like Holy Ilija's thunderbolts.
