Óscar Eduardo Córdoba Arce (born 3 February 1970 in Cali, Valle) is a retired Colombian football goalkeeper who has played more than 70 games for the Colombia national team.
Córdoba's goalkeeping style is quite different from the typical goalkeepers of his time. Inclined to wait a bit off the goal area, he is more of a field defender, he had a great ability to close spaces and amazing reflexes, but also the leap enabled him to make incredible saves. His most significant strength is his talent with passing the ball accurately and restarting the action quickly.*
He was elected by FIFA as the best American goalkeeper in 2000 and 2001 and the second best goalkeeper in the world in 2001 behind Oliver Kahn.
