Pepe? You can't be serious, he surely wasn't better than Silva. Same goes for Hummels who had many bad performances this year..

Yup mate, Pepe right now is one of the best CB's of the world right now, it's right now a shame that his "reputation" is still mark him, besides Silva has decline his level a lot since the WC

Well Pepe is good that season but in the first half of the year his performances weren't that good IMO and both Ramos and Varane played better then ;)
Another player who would have deserved a place among the defenders - Mehdi Benatia. He was the best CB in the world during the first half of 2014 and at Bayern his performances became stronger with each game. He was a thousand times better than Luiz and Silva..

45545325675434 useless goals and a hilariously World Cup are enough to win Golden Ball if you have good sponsor.

Neuer, Di Maria, Muller, Godin, Diego Costa, Robben and Sergio Ramos too would deserved to win this trophy more than CR7.

Everybody knows Cristiano was the favourite, he made an amazing season with the fail in Fifa World Cup (and we can't compare Portugal to another countries when Ronaldo played the World Cup injuried and we can't forget Ballon D'or is for the best player of the season and World Cup is only a month, it is important but only a month if not in 2010 Xavi deserved it, or Iniesta who played an amazing world cup but he was injuried all the season before). Anyway, for me the three players who should be the three nominates should be: Cristiano Ronaldo (best player in La Liga, best player in UEFA Champions League, Champions League winner, top scorer in one season in UEFA Champions League, top scorer in La Liga, one of the best players in Copa del Rey...), Müller (for me the best player in Bayern this year, the best player of Germany NT, winner of the World Cup and the true best player in the FIFA World Cup) and Mascherano (one of the best in Barcelona, and the best player of Argentina in Fifa World Cup) or Neuer (the best keeper of the last four years for me after Casillas in 2010)

About FIFA XI this year, for me should be:

Neuer
Carvajal-Ramos-Hummels-Lahm
Modric-Kroos-Di María
Robben-Diego Costa-Ronaldo

This season Real Madrid players did a great season and Real Madrid and germany players were the best in this year, no doubt about that, the only one doubt I have is Carvajal instead of Juanfran (or change him for Lahm and for the left put Marcelo or Höwedes), and could Hummels instead of Godín (but I like more Hummels)

One question: how many watches of Hummels did you watch last year (except his games at the WC/CL)? I can only repeat that Hummels had a very bad year (especially the first half of the 2014-2015 season was the worst I've ever seen from him). Boateng was so much better but he isn't as fancy as Hummels or David Luiz, so he won't be ever regarded as a better player no matter how good his performances are (not only in the CL final, also in nearly all other matches)..
Regarding Carvajal: As you're a RM fan, I can understand you put him in there but let's be honest: Juanfran was better on that position, Lahm was better and on the left side Alaba and Filipe Luis were also more impressive than Marcelo ;)
My FIFA XI would have looked like that:
-------------------Neuer------------------
---Lahm---Boateng---Ramos---Alaba---
---------Rakitic---Kroos---Di Maria------
--------Robben---Müller---CR7----------
Players who also would deserve a place here: Godin, Mascherano, Modric, Alonso, Benatia, Bale

I'm agree with you with Filipe Luis, yes, when I wrote the post I didn't think in him (Don't know why, but by far one of the best SB in 2014), and well, about Hümmels, I saw the Fifa World cup matches and not too much (but I'm still thinking he is one of the best CB in the world). And well, Carvajal was better than Juanfran at least for me (two players who I compare in every game, and well, for me Carvajal is better in lot of things, specially in attack, although Juanfran is much more solid in defense and well, Juanfran came to the end of the season too tired because Simeone only used a team for all the season, that made them lost the UCL final in my opinion, Real Madrid is a strong team, and with a lot of players tired you can't fight till the end)

The only thing I know, is Lahm could be in the team as defender or midfielder (Guardiola and his experiments, not all of them work but when it works, the players improves in everything)

Well, about the mention of these players, agree with all of them, and even we could make another team, with Courtoise, Godín, Hazard, Neymar...

It's such a shame for Milan.. Italy needs a great Milan, needs great teams.. now there are only two teams in Serie A that could fight for the championship.. the other teams are ridicolous..

Milan is becoming a circus, they need a great coach, or at least a coach! They must understand that it is useless to put someone on the bench only because they were part of the "great Milan".. people like Seedorf or Inzaghi need to improve a lot their job before reaching Milan's bench.. And now they're paying them a lot.. The team of Milan is ridicolous, players like Montolivo, Mexes, Armero, Poli, Abate, Muntari must play in Atalanta, not in Milan. El Shaarawy is a ghost, like De Sciglio that was considered the "new Maldini"

Juventus and Roma too are weaker than 10 years ago.. for example, some days ago someone asked me to create a starting XI of the Juventus of Capello and the Juventus of Conte-Allegri.. There was no history..

Buffon
Lichtsteiner - Thuram - Cannavaro - Zambrotta
Camoranesi - Emerson - Vieira - Nedved
Ibra/Del Piero - Trezeguet

The only one of the present day Juventus that could be part of that team is Lichtsteiner, and this only because in 2004-2006 the RB was Jonathan Zebina
Buffon still there :D
Maybe Tevez could take place of Ibra, only because in Juventus Zlatan was too young and "stupid"..
Incredible that the starting XI of 2006 had 8 World champions and 2 Baloons d'Or
And of course, Pogba will need to stay in this team, I'd like to know your opinion about him.. in the last months he improved also his mentality, this player will become a real legend..

IMHO Pogba, Vidal and Pirlo are better than the giraffe Vieira and the turtle Emerson.

Milan is just ridicolous, Inzaghi is not a trainer but a great ass kisser, Galliani choosed him because of that.
Montolivo captain is the biggest shame in all the Milan history.

I disagree with JeanMarc, Mauri is doing a great season and is fundamental for Lazio this year, very underrated player even if he is old.

Pogba is a great player without any doubt but certainly it's much easier to show your class now in Italy when 90 % of your rivals are amateurs, than what was in the time of Dutch trio, Maradona, Platini and others...

Still regardless how good Pogba is, I don't think he's or he'll ever reach the level of the greatest French midfielders from the past...

No, they are not better. Vieira and Emerson played excellent under the command of Don Fabio. Nobody from current Juve team could earn a spot in that team...

As for Milan, I repeat again it's all fault of Galliani. I'm registered also on one other forum and there it asks you who do you support, and one of the Milan fans wrote: "Death of Galliani" I'm also not far from that...

If not that, he should retire. Berlusconi also leave the command to Barbara or sell the club. I mean he doesn't have few millions to buy some player, just buying those on "parametro zero", but he has the money for those minor whores...Bloody old Nazi pedophile..

Inzaghi is just the puppet to listen the commands of big 2, besides he doesn't understand anything about coaching. We need some experienced and proven coach, not those begginers like Seedorf and Pippo who use Milan as their practice work.

We have a different view of football, I never liked such slow and static central midfielders like Vieira and Emerson so I prefer the other three, I agree that Pogba have to show how good he is in Champions League not only in Serie A.

We have the second salary amounts of the Serie A, I think this is enough to show how much bad have worked Galliani in these years.

It's too easy to have tons of money and spend them for players like Papin, Lentini, Sheva, Inzaghi, Rui Costa, Nesta, etc...

Yes, I agree, but I also think this is a problem of modern football, not only of Serie A.

I don't think C.Ronaldo could have scored so many goals with Madrid 10-20 years before, the same for Messi..

The level of Serie A, I repeat, is ridicolous, but I think this is a more general problem: la tattica.
Nowadays almost all the coaches work on that level, instead of working on technical skills, which are the basis of football. A technique player now need also to be insered in so many movements, that he can't show all his skills. Some time ago there were players like Denilson, Okocha, but also Ronaldinho was one of them, who are simply fantastic on technique level, but they didn't work for their team, and it was the team that worked for them.
Starting by the young teams, now the young players are tought to be insered in a 3-5-2, in a 4-3-3, in a 4-2-3-1.. but these are only numbers, the reality IMO is that a defender must be good on defending. Easy? No, as what I can see. The defenders of nowadays make me laugh, players like David Luiz who have been sold for how many? 50 millions €? But this is a general problem, not only in Serie A..
Take the example of Atletico Madrid. How many technical players are there in the team? Koke, Turan.. and stop. The other players are perfect for what Simeone wants from them. And with this kind of work they won the Liga and almost the CL the season before, even if Madrid has Ronaldo, Bale, Modric and so on, and Barcelona has Messi, Iniesta, Neymar and many others..
How many good defenders are there nowadays around the world? 4? 5? I'm talking about REAL defenders, not players that if are on 1-on-1 are always passed off. For example Bonucci in Juventus is not a real defender, even if he's improved in last years, instead of Barzagli and Chiellini. Benatia is a great defender. Thiago Silva is a great defender, Godin, Kompany.
But talking about Hummels, David Luiz, Ramos, Pepe (I don't like it, but it seems to me that he's also improving), Pique, Dante, Yanga Mbiwa is simply ridicolous. And I nominated only players who're playing in the starting XI of the biggest team in Europe.
In this Era, is quite simple for Ronaldo, Messi, Bale, Neymar, Robben, Ribery, Hazard and all the good-skilled players scoring 500 goals a year, making 300 assists a year. There are not Maldini, Cannavaro, Nesta, Puyol, Samuel, Blanc...

They need to find the balance, not just put "technicians" in and "destroyers" on the bench...

Coaches in Italy work on what they have, technique either you have it by talent or you don't have it, you can't "learn" it...For example if Milan field Montolivo, Van Ginkel, Bonaventura/Honda on the pitch I still think there won't be any progress. Our strikers are invisible when they are not in ball possession, with no defensive work at all..

Honda should play in midfield, not in attack, Menez plays one fantastic game than 3 in a row barely touches the ball. El Sha is just a shadow of a player he's been before all those injuries. Niang needs to mature and work. Pazzini is Serie B material. Muntari is one of the worst midfielders in history. Essien is finished player, not just now but in the last 2-3 years. Van Ginkel is gifted technically but limited somehow in general...

Defenders are tragic. From all squad just Rami, Bonaventura and De Jong deserve positive ratings so far for current season. Honda and Menez just occassionally. All the others negative rating.

As Real, Barca and others they have the money to buy whoever they want, that's just out of competition for all Italian clubs at the moment..

But it doesn't cover the obvious mistakes of Galliani..It's true there's no money like once to buy guys like Lentini, Papin, Sheva, Nesta, but even that small amount of money was spent wrong...

Buying Matri, Essien, Alex, Torres instead of Strootman, De Vrij, Lestienne should be enough everywhere except of Italy to sack the idiot who did it

ps: Thiago Silva is not great defender anymore, his decline started when he left Milan. I don't know why but he never made a single game for PSG on level he had in Milan. He's just 40% of a player he's been in Milan since ever he went to France. Speaking in pes vocabulary his DEF, RES for all PSG time not more than 87-88...

I know that it's a stupid question but anyway: is there any specific reason why Milan hasn't so much money like they had in the past? I still remember that I was a bit jealous when Milan had Kaka, Sheva, etc but now they just have average players..
Not even ten years ago, Milan was a real nightmare for Bayern (especially Inzaghi :D ) but nowadays I don't think Milan would have a real chance against Bayern..
