INFO:Manuel Fleitas Solich is former Paraguayan midfielder. He was famed for his great leadership on the pitch and outside of the field. He was midfielder capable of playing equally good in offensive moves and playmaking but also in defensive duties as well. Very tall and strong but at the same time so elegant and skillful with good individual skills, good tachnique and strong in aerial battles. Manuel Fleitas Solich was the godfather of Paraguayan football. For half a century in the Albirroja done hardly anything that does not bear his signature, no development takes place where he would not have been involved maßgäblich. Titles as a player with Internacional and Boca Juniors as a coach with the Albirroja and Flamengo lined his path. The first Paraguayan player who was sold abroad, the first player-manager of the continent, the first Paraguayan coach worked in Europe, the first title in the Copa América in Paraguay, the first comprehensive youth work in Paraguay, the first triple of a Brazilian Manuel Fleitas Solich. Solich nacional team in the jersey of the national championship, co-founder of the jogo bonito, Manuel Fleitas Solich all this is that as a player was the "Warlock" and as a coach simply called the "great professor" Solich was born at the end of the first year of the freshly fractured century on 30.12.1900 in Asunción. Football was in his youth, just come fresh from Paraguay. The Dutchman William Paats committed in this regard and very Paats it was organized on 23.11.1901 the first official football match in the middle of the city. Quick won this new sport in the capital, their supporters and founded his first, the clubs: Olimpia, Guarani, Libertad and Nacional, the club is now venerated in the Solich still almost like a god. In the championship of 1918, he was at the Academy at the age of 17, his debut on the position he would never leave it again: in the central midfield. He was a technically skilled player who played a fast and sophisticated style. His skills on the ball earned him one of his many nicknames: the sorcerer. But through his mental presence, he soon became a leader on the pitch and the captain of the team. This role he would later in all the clubs where he played to take. His influence on the playing style of the team of Nacional was so influential that her own name in Paraguay, one was given, which still stands today for fast and beautiful football: a lo Nacional - on the way from Nacional. 1924 and 1926 he won the National title in 1926, the team remained unbeaten. But it was not alone among the accents in club football Solich was able to set. It was in 1919, when for the first time formed a Paraguayan national team. The occasion was a visit to celebrate the selection of Argentine independence in Asunción, Paraguay, and they wanted to deliver a series of four friendly matches against the neighboring country. To find a powerful team, the association distributed the candidates into two teams and let them play against each other. The will to come into the national team was involved at all so great that the test had to be aborted due to hard-guided play. Finally, one particular team. The national teams met two years earlier introduced in the National Stadium together in front of 10,000 enthusiastic spectators. Paraguay, poorer yet many experience was hopelessly outnumbered and lost the game clearly with 1:5. The anger of the audience was great and was directed especially against the players of Olimpia, so that the association was forced for the second game in the team to make changes. One of them was the collection of Fleitas Solich into the team. These measures branched effect could hold against Paraguay in the remaining spieln but better against the Albicelestes. Nevertheless, it was 0-2 when the referee Andrew Solich's first game in the Albirroja had to cancel because of persistent rain. The successes of the Albirroja were initially limited, but made the start for Solich in her unique career. With an age of only 23, he took over as player and captain of the additional post of coach of the national team and led them into this role as player-coach in the Copa Sudamericana in 1924, 1925, 1926. 1926 should be the next big year. After the championship without defeat Nacional took a trip to Buenos Aires and Montevideo for a couple of friendly matches to play and compete with other clubs can. It was the first trip of this kind of Paraguayan society. In Buenos Aires we played against, amongst others the Argentine giants Boca Juniors. The club management had already heard a lot about Solich, precisely because of his involvement in the Albirroja in international tournaments. But now they have been able to misrepresent themselves to make a picture of him and this seemed to be so convincing that they immediately donned a contract and it as the first player paragayischen abroad were under contract. This is meant to be temporary in the end Albirroja, it was customary at that time, only players playing in the national team which took effect in local clubs against the leather. But it was nowhere near the end of general activity in the Albirroja Solich, as we shall see later. He died in 1984.
"AT THE AGE OF ONLY 23, FLEITAS SOLICH WAS ALREADY A PLAYER, CAPTAIN AND COACH OF PARAGUAYAN NATIONAL TEAM"
