Allan Evans was a mainstay of the Aston Villa defense for twelve years. He played in 475 games and scored 62 goals. As a youngster he played as a striker, and in the first seasons at Villa, he converted to a center back, but he didn't lose his predatory instinct in front of the goal. He appeared in the opposite penalty area at every single free kick for his team. He was also a good penalty taker. He was a strong player with attitude, with good technique and good long distance passing. He played for the Scottish NT at the 1982 World Cup.
