Duff is a former side midfielder and winger, capable of playing also as secondary striker or attacking midfielder and later in his career as side back. His career began in 1996 at Blackburn Rovers, where he made 223 appearances in seven seasons, scoring 35 goals. He transferred to Chelsea in 2003, playing 125 matches and scoring 19 goals in three seasons. After a not very successful three-year spell at Newcastle United, he joined Fulham in 2009, making 173 appearances and scoring 22 goals until he left in 2014. He retired one year later after short experiences at Melbourne City and Shamrock Rovers. He gained 100 caps for Ireland, scoring 8 times.
One of the best Irish players of his generation and arguably one of the best ever of his country, Duff was an excellent midfielder and forward, who preferred acting on the left but could play efficiently also on the right, side where he was deployed in especially with the national team. He played very well also as secondary striker, position he covered, for example, during the 2002 FIFA World Cup, where he was voted best Irish player of the tournament. Duff possessed outstanding stamina, agility and speed particularly on short distance that combined with his great technique and fantastic dribbling skills, thanks to which he could easily and constantly break through the defences. He was left-footed but could use the right foot as well and could score remarkable goals even from long range. However, he often rushed towards the goal in order to receive the ball and the beat the goalkeeper, sometimes dribbling him before shooting. An able assist-man, he delivered accurate short or cut back passes as well as superb crosses from active play or set piece.

He probably is one of the strongest players with such DEF without a typical defensive position assigned, like CMF or deeper.

I remember him helping a lot in defense specially in his late years.
However I don't remember him playing in non-offensive positions.
What would you change or add?
Maybe CMF position for Chelsea and Fulham (if he played sometimes here) and lower DEF for Blackburn.

I don't know, Konami gave him during 2011-2013 the SB position, i often thought that he played in that position quite a lot during those years (aside from his usually winger role.)
