Cavigioli was a right winger. He mostly played for Pro Patria: 90 matches and 26 goals from 1945 to 1956 (excluding a short and unsuccesful spell in Torino in 1951-52). He played also for Varese and Novara. He capped twice in for Italy in 1948, scoring 3 goals. His downfall began quickly, when he was only 23, due to physical problems especially a bad meniscus injury.
Cavigioli was gifted with estrus and creativity but wasn't the kind of winger who opened the defence using his size, shoulder-to-shoulder challenges or headings because he was very small. However he wasn't too weak. Therefore, he never left the opponent until he decided to run with his lightning speed. His dribbling and sprints amused the crowds and he was almost uncatchable when he started running with the ball on his feet. The only way to stop him was by putting him down forcibly, otherwise it was sure that he would've reached the goal.

With the only forward position who works is SS.
