Defence MindedINFO:Ammoniaci was a right or left back. He spent most of his career at Cesena: 246 matches from 1966 to 1975. He always had great performances and many big clubs tried to buy him. At the end he joined Lazio where he had good seasons, playing 113 games from 1975 to 1979. He played also for Palermo, Forlì and Vado before retiring in 1984.
Nicknamed "Rock", Ammoniaci was a tough defender who marked tightly and constantly his opponent but also committed several fauls. His marking could stop great strikers but he suffered against dribblers who could go past him with ease. He had a decent heading ability and occasionally pushed forward. He holds the record for the fastest red card received when he was sent off after only two seconds in a match between Roma and Lazio on 18th March 1979, not for a faul but for a simulation.
