Defence MindedINFO:Pirazzini was a defender, mainly sweeper. He holds the record for most appearances with Foggia: 424 matches and 13 goals from 1967 to 1980. Captain for seven seasons, he contributed to the three Serie A promotions during the 1970s. He played also for Ravenna in his early career.
Pirazzini was acclaimed as one of the most gifted sweeper in Italy even though he was never truly considered by big clubs. He was a leader in defence but was effective also in attack. He pushed forward often to set up the action or reaching the goal, showing good movements, decent technique and a not bad shot that gave problems even to great goalkeepers like Zoff. Despite his huge size, he had athleticism and was able to hit the ball in acrobatic ways. He had great consistency and he was near to be called for Italy in three occasions.
